The Rules – Do I Need A Permit to Get Married in Canmore?

If you’re considering getting married in Canmore, you might be wondering about the permits required. Absolutely, the answer is yes! Or, at the very least, you’ll need to book a site for your special day.

Town of Canmore – outdoor ceremony locations

For beautiful locations like Quarry Lake and Rundleview Parkette, you need to reserve a time slot with the Town of Canmore. This way, you can ensure that nobody else will be sharing the space with you on your big day.

Canmore Nordic Centre – outdoor wedding sites

Tree Island and Cross Country Stadium at the Canmore Nordic Centre are located within a provincial park.  It’s important to know that these outdoor wedding venues must be booked in advance. To secure these picturesque spots, make sure you book with Cornerstone Weddings.

Canmore Ranch – outdoor wedding ceremony venue

Additionally, if you’ve fallen in love with the Canmore Ranch, keep in mind that it’s a private site. To secure this location, you’ll need to book through Cornerstone Weddings.

Finally, let’s not forget about Silvertip Golf Course, The Malcolm Hotel, and The Coast Hotel! These charming outdoor wedding venues in Canmore also have their own outdoor wedding spaces, which you’ll want to book ahead of time.

What is the best season for an outdoor wedding in Canmore?

When it comes to outdoor weddings in Canmore, the question of the best season is easily answered: any time of year can be absolutely perfect! However, there are a few things you need to keep in mind to ensure your big day goes smoothly and is as stunning as you’ve always imagined.

First and foremost, be prepared for the weather. Have a back up plan for your indoor ceremony as Canmore’s climate can be unpredictable at times. Make sure your reception venue allows for an indoor backup option if you book a Town of Canmore site.

Better yet, why not book an outdoor wedding venue with Cornerstone Weddings? We’ve got you covered with indoor backup options for both Tree Island and Cross Country Stadium at the Canmore Nordic Centre. And if you opt for the Canmore Ranch, you’ll have the beautiful Cornerstone Theatre as your backup venue.

But it’s not just about logistics – it’s also about creating an unforgettable experience for you and your guests. Whether you decide on a summer or winter wedding, make sure your guests are aware that the ceremony will be outdoors. And don’t forget to dress accordingly! Choosing the right attire for you and your wedding party is a must to ensure everyone stays comfortable throughout the celebration.
