Researching Canmore wedding venues can feel a little overwhelming.
From high-end destination resorts to intimate retreats and DIY-style halls, there are so many options to choose from (each boasting mountain views, in one of Alberta’s most sought-after wedding destinations).
That’s why we like to start with a different question: What kind of wedding experience do you want to create?
At Cornerstone Weddings, we offer three distinct venues, each designed for a different style of celebration. Whether you’re envisioning a classic Rocky Mountain wedding, an intimate gathering immersed in nature, or a more modern venue with mountain views, there’s a Cornerstone venue built for that experience.
If you’re wondering which Cornerstone venue is right for you, this guide will help you compare your options and find the perfect fit.
Let’s start with the TL;DR version:

Cornerstone Theatre
Starting Commitment (May-October): $18,000 – $23,000
Best For: 110 – 180 Guests
Season: Year-round (unique opportunity for an outdoor winter mountain wedding)
If you’ve imagined saying “I do” against the dramatic backdrop of the Canadian Rockies, Cornerstone Theatre may be exactly what you’re looking for.
Known for its exclusive ceremony location at the Canmore Ranch and its iconic, one-of-a-kind reception space, Cornerstone Theatre is a quintessential mountain wedding venue. This venue is designed for couples who want privacy, exclusivity, and a party that lasts long into the night.

Ceremony Venue: Hosted at the Canmore Ranch, the only private ceremony location with unobstructed mountain views in town. You and your guests will have exclusive access to the property during your ceremony (no day hikers or onlookers passing through). We also have indoor washrooms and free accessible parking on site. The Canmore Ranch is located a two-minute drive from Cornerstone Theatre, with plenty of parking for guests. Located within a gated property with no public access, the Ranch’s exclusive, separate location makes your ceremony feel like the focal point of the day.

Reception Venue: Cornerstone Theatre’s biggest strength is its balance of warmth and drama, with soaring cathedral ceilings creating a sense of grandeur and openness. Rather than feeling like a traditional banquet room or hall, Cornerstone Theatre feels like a luxury mountain cabin. During dinner, candlelit harvest tables mixed with rich wood tones make the space feel cozy and inviting. Later in the evening, the professional theatre lighting and sound and built-in stage transform the room into a vibrant party atmosphere, complete with a lofted DJ booth overlooking the dance floor.
Cornerstone Theatre Is Ideal For:
- Larger guest counts
- Couples who want serious wow-factor for their ceremony
- Receptions featuring bands or performances
- Couples who want a venue that feels unmistakably Rocky Mountain
One of the biggest advantages of Cornerstone Theatre is flexibility. The venue accommodates everything from elegant black-tie celebrations to more whimsical or rustic aesthetics, while still feeling authentic to Canmore and the Rocky Mountain background.
You’d Love Cornerstone Theatre If…
You want a Canmore wedding venue experience that your guests will remember forever: dramatic views, exceptional guest comfort, and a venue designed to make a statement.
“We couldn’t have asked for a more magical experience, everything was absolutely perfect. Cornerstone Theatre was just the right size for our group (150 guests), and Canmore Ranch was incredibly picturesque. The mountain backdrop made our vows feel like a dream.” – 2025 Bride
The Vista
Starting Commitment (May-October): $19,000 – $25,000
Best For: 90 – 150 Guests
Season: May to October
If you love the idea of a mountain wedding, but you’re drawn to more modern, city-inspired venues, The Vista may be exactly what you’re looking for.
Featuring Canmore’s only rooftop ceremony location, panoramic mountain views, and a bright, contemporary reception space, The Vista is designed for couples who love modern aesthetics but don’t want to sacrifice the breathtaking Rocky Mountain scenery that makes Canmore so special.

Ceremony Venue: Hosted on the rooftop of the building, you’ll say your vows at eye-level with some of Canmore’s most iconic peaks. Unlike many mountain ceremony sites that require hiking or transportation logistics, The Vista’s ceremony location is located directly above your reception space, creating a seamless experience for both you and your guests. Elevator access to the roof allows everyone to take in the ceremony with ease, with parking and bathrooms available on site.

Reception Venue: The Vista combines modern architecture with some of the most impressive mountain views available from any indoor wedding venue in Canmore. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the room with natural light and frame views of the valley forest and peaks beyond. Rich wood finishes, sophisticated metal accents, and an open-concept design create a space that feels contemporary yet warm. During cocktail hour, guests can gather on the wrap-around patio before transitioning inside for dinner and dancing, all while remaining connected to the mountain landscape outside.
The Vista Is Ideal For:
- Medium to large guest counts
- Couples who want the comforts of an urban venue with a mountain backdrop
- Weddings that prioritize mountain views throughout the entire celebration
- Couples with a more editorial decor inspiration
Important to Note: The Vista is located within the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park and was built as a world-class sporting facility. The building looks out onto the biathlon range, adding a unique nod to Canmore’s Olympic history. Sporting events and recreation take place throughout the grounds of the park. Because of its location, guests parking at The Vista are required to purchase a Kananaskis Conservation Pass.
One of The Vista’s biggest advantages is the ease of having both your ceremony and reception spaces in one building. Late afternoon ceremonies that finish with a cocktail hour on the roof and transition seamlessly into dinner downstairs are common for Vista couples, creating the perfect hosting environment for those planning a destination wedding.

The Rundleview Room
Starting Commitment (May-October): $12,000 – $14,000
Best For: 40 – 80 Guests
Season: Year-Round
If you’re drawn to the outdoors and want a laid-back, relaxed setting for your wedding, The Rundleview Room may be exactly what you’re looking for.
Perfect for couples planning a smaller celebration, this charming chalet-style venue combines stunning mountain scenery with a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere.

Ceremony Venue: This venue offers a choice between two unique outdoor ceremony locations. Tree Island is a secluded site nestled among towering trees, creating a private and whimsical atmosphere with peek-a-boo mountain views. For couples who want sweeping mountain views, Cross Country Stadium offers a stunning view of the famous Three Sisters mountains in front of an iconic Olympic training ground. While Tree Island requires a small uphill walk, both sites are accessible and located within minutes of the day lodge building, where the reception space is located.

Reception Venue: The Rundleview Room feels like a classic alpine chalet. Vaulted ceilings, natural wood accents, and large windows framing Mount Rundle create an atmosphere that is cozy and inviting. Unlike larger venues that can feel overwhelming with a smaller guest count, the room is intentionally scaled for intimate celebrations, allowing every guest to feel connected to the experience. A newly installed deck feature allows guests to step outside and enjoy the surrounding views from cocktail hour until well after the sun has set.
The Rundleview Room Is Ideal For:
- Smaller guests counts
- Couples who love the outdoors and mountain lifestyle
- Weddings that feel relaxed, personal, and nature-inspired
- Couples looking for a venue with authentic alpine character
Important to Note: The Rundleview Room is located within the main day lodge building at Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park. The building is open to the public daily from 9 am – 5 pm, and the Rundleview Room looks out over Cross Country Stadium, where Olympic athletes can be seen training year-round. Sporting events and recreation take place throughout the grounds of the park. Because of its location, guests parking at The Rundleview Room are required to purchase a Kananaskis Conservation Pass.
One of the biggest advantages of The Rundleview Room is that it never feels like a compromise because of its size. While many smaller venues can feel limited, this space delivers the same incredible mountain backdrop and wedding-day experience as larger venues, with the same amazing products and services offered at our other two venues.
You’d Love The Rundleview Room If…
You want a wedding that feels relaxed, intimate, and connected to the mountains, where breathtaking scenery and your closest family and friends take centre stage.
